Spent the weekend recently travelling to Yogyakarta, Central Java in Indonesia. Represented VEC and Parkway/IHH giving public talks and hospital CME seminars on diabetic foot salvage in the setting of peripheral artery disease and modern day management of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency.
Had the honour to speak in Solo, the home town of the current President of Indonesia and Jogja.
Discussed treatment strategies including endovascular revascularization concepts; i.e., lower limb angioplasty, percutaneous atherectomy, stenting and wound healing adjuncts including the use of topical oxygen therapy and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT).
It was wonderful speaking to the local doctors and understanding what the current needs are from a vascular perspective and what things need to be improved.
Want to sincerely thank Davin and Sharon from Parkway who facilitated and organised the successful and very enjoyable trip to these wonderful cities. A great educational experience!
