Understanding Your Vein Health

Even those professions who are more sedentary such as accountants and administration, with their legs down on the floor, may be susceptible albeit to a lesser extent than those always on their feet for most of the day!

那么如何才能改善静脉健康呢?

1.保持活跃

Regular exercise is always touted, as it activates the muscles in your legs to push blood back up to the heart! Flexing and extending your knees regularly can help the blood pumping action as well as walking in the swimming pool with the pressure of the water around your legs (swimming is not needed if you do not want to).

2.保持充足的水分

Especially in the temperate climate of Singapore you can become dehydrated easily making the blood thicker and flow less easily making vein problems worse in your legs.

3. 健康饮食

Fruits and vegetables, as well as omega-rich salmon, are excellent for vein-wall health, helping them stay elastic and pump blood effectively. Foods rich in flavonoids such as berries, oranges, tomatoes, kale, and tea can improve the tone of the veins in your legs, allowing more efficient pumping. Even better, dark chocolate contains decent amounts of flavonoids too, so there’s your excuse to enjoy a bit more of it!

4.不要吸烟

烟雾会损害静脉壁,同时导致动脉硬化和狭窄!烟雾中的尼古丁和化学物质也会导致血液变稠和凝结。

5.抬高双腿

经过一整天的工作或长途步行后,抬高腿部是一项很好的活动,有助于促进血液循环。即使购物等活动也会对您的静脉造成过度压力。如果您正处于静脉曲张的早期阶段,请尝试抬高双腿或将身体调整至平坦位置。

6.使用压力袜
